Synopsis:
A dreary carver called Gloomy (Tom Berenger) is asked to make a wooden Nativity scene for a miserable boy who has lost his old one – the only thing that reminded him of his dead father. The boy's mother asks to allow her son to watch the process of making a substitute Nativity. The craftsman agrees, but little by little the boy becomes very fastidious. He doesn't know that the master lost his nearest and dearest people too.
